One of the alternative investment industry’s most popular events, CAIF delivered once again, captivating and inspiring the at-capacity crowd from keynote through cocktails. Economist David Rosenberg started the day with a well-received presentation entitled “Bonds Have More Fun” before the morning’s Candid Conversations got underway.

 

Following lunch, Partner Sponsor Richter Family Office debuted The Richter Debates to much acclaim. The audience of investors and industry professionals heard lively points for and against the question, “Are Private Markets Worth It?” before ultimately voting that the opposition side had been more persuasive. 

 

A conversation on art as an asset class brought a new perspective to alternative investing, while the rest of the morning’s conversations discussed alts in the current high interest rate environment, private agricultural credit, and one firm’s pension-style approach to independent asset management.

 

Afternoon panel sessions explored energy transition, stressed, and distressed credit, and the always-popular real estate development.
